Our project for the HISTORIC COURTHOUSE of Antwerp (B) is a nominee for the Erfgoedjuweel Awards. From today, till 11.09.2023, you can bring out your vote here .

 

The main goal of the project was to guarantee the buildings' use as a courthouse for the decades to come, to synchronize it to present views on the practice of law, to give it a stronger connection to the city, and to make it futureproof in terms of comfort and energy-use.

 

After an intensive study period, we found that the initial plans by architect Lode Baeckelmans were really innovative at the time and suited the present demands quite well. We therefore decided to align our design with the intentions of our predecessor as much as possible.
